The Drawbacks of Not Using This Process

Many contractors do not do this, or provide this service through a separate designer. I’ve found doing this design work upfront - and it’s a lot of work! Helps keep the project on schedule and on budget. It allows helps prevent scope creep which can drastically increase the cost of your project. There’s nothing worse then having your floor torn up and then having to decide what tile to choose.

  • Without detailed drawings, critical details may be overlooked.

  • Lack of a comprehensive budget can lead to cost overruns.

  • An undefined design direction can result in a disjointed final product.

  • Missing finish selection guidance can result in mismatched aesthetics.

  • Fewer consultations may result in overlooked details and potential issues.

Other Issues

Fragmented Communication

When you don't opt for a comprehensive design-build package, communication between various parties can become disjointed. This often leads to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and delays. Our integrated approach ensures streamlined communication, where designers, builders, and you, the client, are always on the same page.

Increased Costs

Without a clear and detailed plan, unexpected changes during construction are more likely. These changes can be costly and disrupt the project's budget. Our design-build packages provide a thorough and realistic budget estimate, helping you avoid financial surprises.

Longer Timelines

Traditional methods can lead to longer project timelines. Coordination between different contractors and designers can cause delays. Our design-build approach, with its integrated planning and execution, ensures that the project progresses smoothly and efficiently.

Higher Risk of Errors

The lack of collaboration between designers and builders in a non-design-build approach can result in errors or omissions in the design. These issues can be costly and time-consuming to fix. Our process ensures that designers and builders work together from the start, minimizing the risk of errors.

Limited Accountability

With separate entities handling different aspects of the project, it can be challenging to determine who is responsible for any issues that arise. This can lead to frustration and unresolved problems. Our design-build approach provides a single point of accountability, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
